(Women to Wolves)

“No.” Beth repeated herself for what had to be the hundredth time that night. She glared up from behind her glasses at Liz.

“Come on! It’ll be funny!” Liz wiggled her bare toes, leaning out a little to check and see if their neighbor was home yet.

“No. We’re not TransFunning Henrietta. I don’t care about how funny it is; she’s pre-law. Do you know what she’ll do to us if she finds out?” Beth sighed with exasperation.

“That’s only if she doesn’t like it! You liked it, didn’t you? And you were a total stick in the mud!” Liz exclaimed, her blue-pink curls bobbing slightly as she spoke.

Beth sighed, taking off her glasses to massage her temples. “I’d really rather you not call me a stick in the mud…”

“Deal! As long as we make Henri a wolf for the night.” Liz stuck out her hand, frowning when Beth didn’t immediately shake it.

“You weren’t listening to a single word I said, were you?” Beth crossed her arms, swiveling in her chair so she could give Liz her best stern glare.

“I know not to call you a S-I-T-M!” Liz held up her fingers, play-counting as she spoke.

Beth knew that her friend was trying to get under her skin… And it was working. “Listen.” She growled a little. “We’ve already drank our serums; just enjoy that we’ll have another night as wolves.”

“I will, I will! And… Henri will, too.” Liz looked out their window again, smiling as she saw their brown-haired neighbor return home.

“What did you do, Liz?” Beth glanced up in terror, her eyes wide.

“Nothing… Yet.” Liz grinned, darting out their door before Beth could respond.

“What-but-Liz!” Beth blinked, scrambling for her shoes.

Henri turned at the sound of padding feet. Probably Liz, looking to have her try some new recipe of hers. Honestly, she didn’t trust a thing that girl baked: she knew Liz’s love of TransFun. However, she did enjoy talking to the rich girl.

“What’s up, Liz?” Henri placed her coffee mug on her car, grinning as she made note of the extra pink in Liz’s hair today.

“Henri! I just heard something you won’t believe!” Liz gasped slightly for breath, checking behind her. Henri leaned over the girl’s shoulder for a moment, seeing Beth was running out of their apartment. Before the older woman could comment, Liz continued excitedly.

“I heard that if your house might be cursed! Like, by a werewolf or something!” Liz tilted her head back to the oncoming Beth, “Beth was the one who found out, as a matter of fact!”

“Oh?” Henri laughed, crossing her arms as she leaned back to sit on the hood of her car. “And this wouldn’t happen to have anything with the increase in wolf activity in our backyard, would it?”

She paused as Beth ran onto her driveway, too. “Now it’s a party.” Henri sniggered a bit as she talked: Beth looked completely winded. “Something wrong, dear? Liz was just telling me about this curse you heard of.”

Beth held up a finger, her eyes widening as she looked past Henri. Henri turned to follow her gaze, but Beth shot a hand up before the woman could complete her sidelong glance. “Henrietta, it’s real!” Beth exclaimed. “At least, I think it is.”

“Now that’s a surprise!” Henri clapped. “You’re usually the straight-laced one of the two. Also it’s just ‘Henri’.” She smiled; Beth was painfully formal at times.

“I know, I know. But Liz was right, there’s a curse on all transformation; and I’m worried you’re at risk.” Beth gulped for air, squeaking a little as Liz darted next to her to hug her.

“There there, Beth! Don’t worry, I’m sure Henri will be fine.” Liz hugged Beth tighter. “I checked her karma levels, and I think she’ll be a-okay!”

“Well now I’m a little concerned.” Henri snickered, picking up her mug again. It felt a little heavier than before… Maybe Liz had slipped her something. Or Henri was just tired after a day at the firm. Probably the latter, Henri thought as she took a long drag of her herbal tea cleanse.

It tasted much the same, so she probably was just tired. “If you wouldn’t mind, I could really use some R&R. Maybe you can have me over tomorrow?” She grinned as the girls nodded, turning to leave. “Have a good night! Sorry I have to be a boring adult!”

And Henri really was sorry for that, too. By the time she’d washed her dishes, taken out the trash, and had gotten started on dinner it was nearly six o’ clock. “Man, single life can be so lame.” She muttered, scratching the back of her neck. On the bright side, her stir-fried veggies were done… Even if they didn’t seem too appetizing.

Henri sighed as she scooped the succulent meal onto her plate, itching at her arm as she glanced back to the fridge. She had done some more walking today; Hank had asked her to deliver lots of things to the courthouse…

Yeah, it was safe to call it a cheat day. The brunette hummed happily as she slipped out a bottle of bacon bits, pouring it on top of her vegetables. She didn’t mean to add so much, but that was hardly a problem.

The girl hummed happily as she flopped into her chair. She devoured the plate happily, going so far as to lick it clean. Henri smiled, tossing the plate to her left as she flipped on the TV. A werewolf movie was on the channel, and Henri sniggered. Maybe she was so hungry because of that ‘curse’.

The movie flipped to a full view of the moon, and Henri looked out the window to her right. Sure enough, she could see the moon outside, too. It really was pretty at this time of--the woman fell to all fours, letting out a long and involuntary howl.

Henri blinked, her palms still on the soft carpet of her living room. “What… Was that.” Her arms continued to itch; and her face started to as well. Henri ran to the bathroom, yelping in surprise as she saw that her eyebrows had gotten bushier, and her canines had lengthened. She bared her new fangs, growing as she realized her clean-shaven arms looked like they hadn’t been tended to in weeks.

“Holy crap the curse is real.” Henri spoke her mind, turning to bolt for her door. She had to make it to Liz and Beth’s: they had to know something about what was happening to her! Henri whimpered as she stumbled to all fours, needing to actually force herself to run on two legs.

She made it to the door, falling back on her rear as the door opened before her.

It was Liz and Beth; the two girls had showed up just in time!  “Guys, it’s the curse! He-hel-hawooo!” Henri half-howled into the night air. Her ears twitched a little, and Henri covered them as they began to lengthen to pointed tips.

“Oh my God, it’s really happening!” Liz shouted, her eyes as round as saucers. She grabbed Henri, pushing her inside. “We need to get you somewhere safe so you don’t hurt anyone!”

Henri nodded eagerly, then yelped in surprise. Liz began to change as well: the red-and-blue haired girl slowly growing pointed ears to match Henri’s.

“What’s wrong?” Liz, ever the sweetheart asked. Henri wrapped her in a tight hug, crying with terror.

“You shouldn’t have come in here!” Henri whimpered, seeing even Beth was beginning to change. “You both should have left; you’re cursed like me and we’re going to b e wolves and hairy animals and I don’t even know what I’m saying please hug me back!” Henri gasped for breath, beginning to hyperventilate as Liz circled her arms around Henri, patting her back.

“There there, we’ll at least be wolves together. Even if it is forever.” Liz said, squeezing the older woman a little tighter.

Beth took the brief lull in Henri’s panic to speak up. “Or for just tonight.”

Liz let go of Henri, spinning to glare at her roommate. “Come on! Think about how happy she’d be when she turned back tomorrow morning!”

Beth scoffed. “Happy for about five seconds before she tries to kill us. We should tell her now so she can at least enjoy the changes.”

Henri blinked, trying to make sense of the girls’ conversation. “Um… Am I-are we-cursed or not?” It was hardly the most the eloquent thing she’d said today, but she had to keep her priorities in order.

“Currrsed to having bad neighborrrs.” Beth warbled, almost at the same time Liz responded with a heartfelt “Maybe?”

Henri blinked as she noticed that both of the girls were completely naked. Then she blinked again, seeing that they were a lot hairier than they were that morning. “Whaarr’s going arrn?” Henri worked her jaw a little as she spoke. It seemed she was having trouble with her r’s as well.

“Um… Surprise?” Liz offered weakly, as Beth smacked her upside the head.

“Liz slipped you some TransFun.” Beth said matter-of-factly. “And by the time I had noticed, it was too late to-mph!” Liz cut her roommate off by slapping her palm over the other girl’s mouth.

“Oh. Is that it?” Henri sighed with relief, falling onto the girls’ sofa.

“‘Is that it’?” Beth repeated in shock.

“Yes, dear echo. Is that it.” Henri stuck out her tongue, noticing how it felt a little longer. “I’m a law student; you wouldn’t believe how often we get TransFun complaints lately. Besides, you two seemed to be having fun.”

“And you’re not mad?” Liz gasped, leaping onto the sofa to hug Henri tightly.

“Of course I’m not mad!” Henri laughed, petting the girl on her head. “Hey, you’re starting to get some white hair… Was your intention to be an all-American wolf?”

Liz nodded eagerly. “I’m trying out some dye that’s supposed to work through having TransFun serums! Red white and bl-bl-awooo!” She let herself break off into a howl, looking back to Henri with a wink and a grin.

“Why didn’t you join us sooner, then?” Beth stared, slipping off her glasses as her ears began to slide up her hairier head.

“I’m a grad student; I’m poor!” Henri laughed. “Remember how I didn’t see that new movie with you guys?” She scratched at her chest, pausing as she noticed how much… fluffier she felt under her shirt.

“Something wrong?” Liz cocked her head in an awfully canid fashion.

“When’s the right time to take off my shirt?” Henri blushed a little as she kept scratching at her chest. She couldn’t help it; she felt so itchy there. And, to be honest, it felt really good in some certain spots on her belly. She looked down to her hands to whimper as she saw her fingers were becoming paws, growing bigger and puffy.

“Oh!” Liz yelped, holding her own hands up. the girl was on her way to getting paws, too--but that didn’t keep her from trying to slip Henri’s shirt off.

“Liz, you’rrrre hopelrrss.” Beth muttered, leaning over to pull off Henri’s pants. Her own fingers had started to change, but she seemed to be much more adept with her changing hands. That probably had to do something with the fact that Beth’s hands were fully coated in fur, as opposed to the partial coat Henri and Liz sported.

Henri yelped a little at the feeling of fur brushing against her inner thighs, but she panted with relief as her hairy legs were exposed to the cool air conditioning of Liz and Beth’s house. “Oh, that’s better.” She moaned, looking down to Beth.

She’d meant to thank her, but her thoughts were de-railed by seeing Beth’s feet begin to change into paws. It started with the girl’s nails: they grew long and rough, sharpening into wolf’s claws. The next change came in a form much similar to what had happened to Henri’s fingers. Beth’s toes blimped up a little, flexing as they pulled back into her feet. Hair sprouted all over the surface of the girl’s foot, and Beth’s big toe pulled back up her ankle to form a small dewclaw.

Henri blinked as she realized she’d been staring; then she turned to stare at her own feet. Sure enough, they were just beginning to change… And Beth hadn’t managed to take off her socks in time. The first thing to change on Henri’s feet were her soles. They seemed to inflate a little, becoming thick and padded. She brushed her right paw against it, cooing with delight as she felt how soft and leathery it was, even through the soft cloth of the socks.

Henri’s toes wiggled next, and she wiggled them as they began to shift. Her big toe pulled up her ankle slowly, taking its time sliding past the arch of her foot. Henri had to bite her lip to keep from moaning at the sensation of her toe crossing the middle of her arch. It was a pleasurable, unique tingling that left Henri panting for more.

Better yet, it didn’t end there. Her feet both tickled and itched alike as short, coarse hairs popped out from her skin--poking even through the fabric of her socks. Henri continued to pant, her tongue growing to its full length. Then her nails grew out to claws, and Henri had to clench her toes, whimpering gently as they expanded ever so slowly. Her growing claws poked out through her socks, and Henri whimpered at she realized the inevitable conclusion of this latest growth.

Sure enough, her claws burst forth from her socks, tearing the tops of them to shreds. Henri whimpered a little in sadness, but the torn fabric was easier to get off of her feet than her full socks had been. Besides, they were a cheap white pair Henri wasn’t too attached too; and she’d been meaning to get a new set of socks at Target… The socks slipped off her doggy feet, and Henri stared at her new paws with relief, wiggling her toes.

She shrugged herself off of the couch, falling to all four of her paws as a long, furry tail bloomed from her rear. It grew and grew, wagging as Henri tried sitting just like a dog. It was a little uncomfortable since her limbs were still mostly human, so Henri shifted her weight onto her left hindpaw.

Then, she started to kick at her back ear with her new right paw, scratching herself in the way only a canine could. Low whimpers escaped the woman’s mouth as she felt her paw against her ear: the warm pad of her foot followed by the sharp itch of her claw.

“Havirrng frrn?” Beth growled, leaning to sit with her head on her forepaws as she watched Henri.

Henri barked happily, then blushed. “I mean, yrrrs.” Her ears flattened against her head as she remembered she had company. Then Liz tackled her, licking her happily.

“Don’t be embarrrased! You’rre with us!” Liz yelped. By now, white fur had covered the girl’s body save for her head, which retained her blue and pink hair. Well, it retained the patterning; her long hair had shortened to fur.

Henri blinked, her eyes crossing as she looked up to her own short-cropped hair. As if on cue, it began to pull into her scalp in an oddly pleasurable sensation. It felt to her like someone was gently massaging her hair back into her head, and Henri found herself panting again. What was the harm in giving into the changes, it wasn’t like she was going to be a wolf for…

Her eyes widened as she came to a sharp realization. “Hrr lrrng… grr.” Henri shook her head, feeling her fur sway. “Hrr lrrng wrrlf frr?” Why did that sentence had to have so many r’s in it?

“Jarrst tarrnight!” Liz yelped happpily, nuzzling the sides of Henri’s face. She really was giving into the serum, unlike Beth who seemed to be retaining her dignity… Right up until now.

Henri looked up in time to find Beth chasing her own tail, padding in small circles as her arms and legs shortened and her muzzle came in. But even though the girl’s mouth was longer, it didn’t do her any good.

Henri snuffled quietly with laughter as her own nose flattened out, becoming dark and moist. She crossed her eyes again, watching as her grey coated face started to stretch out into a muzzle. She slurped her tongue back into her longer mouth, sighing as she realized it was a perfect fit. Then, Henri barked; looking Beth in her eyes as she simply rolled to a sitting position and gently bit down on her own tail.

Beth rolled her eyes, barking angrily. Though Beth apparently couldn’t speak, Henri could tell that the girl was accusing her of cheating.

As such, Henri had one response. The changing girl quietly prayed that she’d still be able to speak, placing a paw on her chest. Then, she managed one word; her last word as a human for the night: “Lrryrrr.” Henri’s tail wagged madly with pride; then she yelped with distress as Beth tackled her.

For a few moments, the two girls rolled around, their chests barreling out to predators’. They didn’t notice, each to intent on winning their play-wrestling match. Unfortunately for Henri, Beth had more experience, and the grey wolf was soon pinned by her black-furred friend. Unfortunately for Beth, Henri fought dirty. Henri licked her friend’s back paw, tickling the wolf as she tongued her soft paw-pad. Beth lost her grip almost immediately, and Henri rolled Beth over onto her back; promptly lying flat on the darker wolf.

Then Liz joined in with a flying tackle, and it wall went to hell. The three wolves took their wrestling outside, breaking out into the night air with a chorus of excited barks, yelps, and howls. They kept wrestling until they’d managed to tucker each other out, and they collapsed in a tired, snoring heap on the ground.

Henri woke up first, plucking some leaves out of her short hair. “That was some serious fun.” She giggled and pet her neighbors’ heads.

“Mn, ‘s early…” Beth whined, yawning like a dog as she curled up a little more.

Liz only whimpered, nodding tiredly and snuggling in closer to Beth.

“Well, maybe next time, you should think twice before changing your neighbor without asking her first.” Henri laughed, patting them both on their heads. “Or making her think she’s been cursed.” She bent over, hefting both of the girls up; one over each shoulder.

Liz and Beth flailed with distress, and Henri wobbled a bit. “Easy, there! I can lift, but usually my weights don’t wriggle so much!” She laughed as they stilled. Then, Henri started to walk, chuckling as Beth started snoring once more.

After a few minutes of being carried, Liz raised her head, looking down at the ground. “Wait… This isn’t the way to my house.” She looked up to see a pond and realized the danger she was in. “No no no no no!” She started to wriggle again, so Henri hefted her into the water with a loud splash.

It was just loud enough to wake up Beth, who blinked blearily. “Whuzgoin’-” Her words degenerated into a shriek as she went sailing through the air, falling into the pond with a bigger splash than Liz had.

“How’s the water?” Henri laughed.

“F-f-freezing!” Liz stammered, treading water and shivering.

She looked almost pitiable enough for Henri to feel guilty. Almost. “Then consider that me getting even!” She called, turning to head back to her home. Henri had no doubt that the girls would come up with a way to get back at her for that.

She also had no doubt they knew what they were in for. Henri was her office’s prankster, her poverty coming from some of her more elaborate gags. Maybe it would be time to shift her attention from her coworkers to her neighbors.

Henri chuckled as the girls splashed out of the water from behind her. Life was about to become very interesting around their neighborhood...

This was a really good story. And you left it so you can have the girls pranking each other and those would be some great stories to read. :D
