Claudia looked at her boyfriend, Carlos, with a nervous smile on her face. The two of them were looking for a new thing to spice up their relationship, taking the advice of one of their magical friends to work for a witch named Olivia. They’d gone through all of the proper channels, and their prior experiences with magic had left them well-versed with what to expect.

But that said, they had no idea what the witch was going to do to them. Far from filling them with dread as it should have, the two of them found only anticipation in this, as a child would feel before their birthday or a holiday. And the days of eager anticipation had built up to today.

This was it, the big moment before their reprieve from humanity—and the start of their magical client’s science project. The two of them held each other’s hand for a moment more before turning to the witch in question. “We’re ready when you are.” Claudia said, her smile unwavering despite the fluttering in her heart.

Olivia smiled back at the two, pulling her wand from her dress with confidence. “That’s good to hear.” Olivia spoke slowly, her brow furrowing as she began to focus her energies. “Because we’ll start with Carlos.”

The witch lifted her wand to his arm, closing her eyes and silently concentrating on the form she wanted to give him—and the form she needed her clothes to be. The girl opened her eyes and tapped the young man on his arm, smiling as he shook in surprise.

Carlos blinked rapidly, his eyes wide as something he’d never felt before passed through him. It was like his body was almost gelatinous; his bones and muscles vanishing and leaving him to wobble unsteadily before an inevitable fall.

Naturally, he started to assume that something was wrong. His heart hammered as he realized that he only had the advice of a friend to work on; this was the first time that they’d been changed by Olivia. He considered calling off the change until his clothes swirled around him, expanding to fully enclose his body in a clear container.

It was enough of a sight to make him realize that his wobbly body must fill some sort of purpose, and the man trembled a little more as he started to expand, feeling his skin stretching as some sort of liquid filled his body, inflating him to fill the container.

“I’m… Becoming water?” He asked, his last words before his body burst like a water balloon, filling the container with himself. A rush passed through his body and he groaned with relaxation as warmth flooded himself.

Carlos was completely at ease, a calming rush gripping his body that didn’t let go. In a way, it was like swimming—only he was both the water and the swimmer at the same time. Better yet, his form could somehow see despite its lack of eyes, and he watched with amusement as Claudia squeaked in surprise.

“Oh my God! You made him into water?” She exclaimed, her eyes wide. Her gaze moved from Carlos to his container, and the shocked look she wore was soon replaced by a look of confusion. The top of the container seemed to be a little bulky for a lid, and the more she looked at it, the more she realized that there was some sort of mechanism behind it.

“Oh, you’re right. Hold on.” Olivia tapped the tank, beaming as Carlos’s liquid body shimmered and darkened to a deep red. “There we go. Red-dyed water.” She beamed contentedly, though her smile faltered as she noticed the strange look Claudia was giving her.

“What’s the deal with the container? What kind of a project is this?” Claudia frowned, backing away slowly from Olivia. Now that she was seeing the effects of the changes firsthand, she was a little nervous. The girl had expected to become a cute kitten or something; but this looked to be something entirely different.

“You know…” Olivia sighed, realizing that her volunteer was considering escape. “It’s a lot easier if I show you. Rosa Carolina!” She exclaimed, tapping the wand to the girl’s arm.

Claudia squeaked in surprise as the wand touched her arm. She’d been the subject of vocal changes enough to realize that the second the wand met skin, her time as a human would be over; and the girl braced herself in the split second she had before transforming.

There was a bright flash that filled her world as her brain tried to cope with a new body, and Claudia found herself clattering to the ground snug inside of a clay pot that was once her clothing. The girl wasn’t sure whether or not she should be outraged or contented as a wave of bliss swept across her new and flowery body. She was a beautiful set of white roses now, and she felt as beautiful as she looked.

Olivia smirked, sensing how her volunteer was at home in her new form. “There, you see? I know that plant transformations aren’t most people’s things, but one look at you told me that you’d be a big fan.” She grinned, bending down to stroke one of Claudia’s leaves.

The girl-turned-plant trembled with mute pleasure, loving the sensation of hands along her leaves. Her brain was still coming to terms with how her new body worked, but all of her senses were telling her that this was heaven.

If she concentrated enough, she could identify the roots that had replaced her toes; the stems that now held her multitude of bodies aloft; her white and rosy faces held skyward just as her leaves were, as though in praise of the sun. But after a few attempts of trying to relate her current form to her human one, the girl surrendered. Why worry about such trivialities when instead she could bask in the warm light?

Carlos watched his girlfriend with a bit of jealousy—though he suspected that his form was ten times more relaxing than hers. Even if it meant that he couldn’t be satisfied by the touch of the witch who’d hired them…

His jealousy was dismissed a moment later as Olivia hummed, turning to him with a teasing grin on her face. “Oh, did you think I’d forgotten about you?”

The witch grinned with amusement, wondering if either of the two had realized the nature of her little experiment. If they hadn’t, they’d find out soon, she mused. The girl picked up Carlos’s container and Claudia’s pot, placing her on the sill of her dorm window and placing him beside her—upside down.

“Hope this doesn’t make you too dizzy!” Olivia chirped with a smile on her face, stepping back to admire her handiwork.

Carlos’s world spun as his container was turned, and he realized that as water he had no real definition of ‘up’ or ‘down’. Instead, there was simply ‘still’ and ‘flowing’. And with his container propped up by Claudia, he was certainly ‘flowing’—though extremely slowly.

He was falling into Claudia’s pot one drop at a time, and with a rush of warm pleasure Carlos realized that he was being absorbed into her soil. Better yet, that wouldn’t be the end of his journey. If he was slowly watering Claudia, that meant that he’d be absorbed into her roots—and into her body.

The two weren’t chaste, not in the slightest, but this was an unprecedented level of intimacy for the two. Carlos knew that if he could blush he’d be as red as his current body, and he wondered if Claudia felt the same.

Of course she did, though she had no way of telling him. Instead, Claudia could only watch as Carlos dripped into her soil, a drop every minute or so. She felt her roots stretching with anticipation, and the girl basked in the delight of the sun as she waited for the first kiss of his moisture to her roots.

“Well then, I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone.” Olivia smirked, turning from her window to her laptop, beginning to boredly browse her Facebook.

It was surprising to both of the transformed volunteers, but they soon realized that they were now just objects—and would be treated as such. With Claudia as a plant and Carlos as an automatic watering device, all of both of their needs were taken care of. Like that, they became just a pair of common decorations. And they loved it.

Carlos loved every second of his body dripping into Claudia’s soil; the feeling of himself being absorbed through her roots into her body. He loved being drunk like this way more than being drunk in the traditional sense, especially how he could feel himself inside Claudia. He was always reminded of his everlasting love for her, and she felt the same way towards him too.

Claudia’s chloroplasts worked on overtime as she yearned for her body to grow more, just so she could absorb more of Carlos. She could feel him inside of her—or at least feel his dye spreading along her delicate flower petals.

Indeed, she had realized what Olivia’s project was the second her petals began to take on a pinkish hue, and the girl reveled in every moment of it. She loved the feeling of Carlos seeping into her body, becoming a part of her and leaving his dye firmly upon her body just as she’d left lipstick-laden kisses on his cheeks when they were human.

Carlos flowed more and more into Claudia’s body as time passed, and the two found all tension and every boundary between them washing away. Every drop of his water into her soil was a gentle kiss, and every droplet that she soaked up in her roots was a warm embrace.

It was exactly the type of getaway that the two were looking for: an experience neither of them had ever felt and yet something that also would become their new favorite activity. The next few weeks whirled by in a haze of contented pleasure, and Claudia grew large and strong, her pink leaves a testament to their love.

Then Carlos’s last drop fell into Claudia’s body, and the two quavered in delight as she absorbed his very last drop. They two of them shivered as Carlos passed into her roots, filling her with delight, and she spread her leaves so the two of them could bask in the sun.

As though she’d been waiting for that moment, Olivia spun around in her chair, finishing the day’s notes with a flourish. “Perfect!” She grinned, pulling out her wand with a grin on her face. “And now… Claudia!”

The rose shivered in confusion as she became a woman again; then she gasped in delight as she realized that Carlos was still a part of her: her hair, eyes, and even her skin were still a gentle pink. “Oh my God, I look like some sort of anime girl!” She exclaimed, patting herself down and squeaking with surprise. “You did… How did… Is he really a part of me?”

Olivia grinned, twirling her wand around her fingers. “Shouldn’t you know the answer to that?”

Claudia paused; then widened her eyes as she realized she indeed did. Her lips moved not of her own accord, a gentle moan escaping her mouth. It was the same type of moan that Carlos would utter when he was snuggled in bed with her, and Claudia found her arms hugging herself tightly in a hug.

“He’s… My boyfriend is my subconscious?” Claudia looked up in confusion to find the witch nodding excitedly.

“Mhm! At least, he should be if my notes were right. Nobody’s really tried merging like this before, you know.” Olivia said with a grin, puffing out her chest proudly.

“I… We see.” Claudia nodded slowly, a smile spreading across her face as she felt Carlos smiling within her as well.

“‘We’?” Olivia blinked in surprise, waving a hand in front of the girl’s eyes.

She was rewarded with a swat on the hand for her efforts, and the pink girl pursed her lips. “Yeah… We’re not really Claudia or Carlos anymore… I think that we’d like to be called Rose now. At least until we’re changed back. If we’re changed back.” Rose added the last word hurriedly, waving her hands.

“You… Like being like this? Both of you do?” The witch said. Olivia pursed her lips, arching an eyebrow in confusion as she awaited some negative answer.

“Of course!” Rose chuckled, beaming as the witch took on a look of complete confusion. “This is perfect; this is the best we’ve ever felt!” The pink girl grinned contentedly, stretching out her body with a cute yawn, a mixture of the way both of their old forms would yawn.

“Huh.” Olivia said with a frown on her face. Then a slow smile spread across her face as she looked to Rose, and her eyes twinkled with inspiration. “I suppose that I would need to study you for a while… It could take months, even years. That is… If you wouldn’t mind?”

Rose chuckled, smiling and running her arms along her sides as she kept hugging herself tightly. “We think that that sounds perfect.”

I have a feeling that it’s gonna a take a lot of time for that “we” to become “I”
